Did You Know?
Edmontosaurus, a large hadrosaurid dinosaur, had a peculiar dental adaptation known as dental batteries, which consisted of hundreds of tightly packed teeth in its cheeks. These batteries were ideal for grinding tough plant material, allowing Edmontosaurus to efficiently process and digest the vegetation of its Cretaceous environment. Additionally, fossilized skin impressions suggest that Edmontosaurus may have had a scaly, pebbly skin texture, similar to that of modern crocodiles, adding to our understanding of its appearance and physiology.
